Painter Journeyman Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Painter Journeyman to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Filling nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty plaster;
- Erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders safely to perform tasks above ground level;
- Simulating wood grain, marble, brick, tile or other special effects with cloth, brush, or sponge;
- Painting surfaces using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers;
- Removing old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch to prepare surfaces for painting;
- Smoothing surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool;
- Document work performed on repair order;
- Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clocking procedures;
- Edge all parts immediately upon drop off by metal technician;
- Review work completed to ensure quality of paint job.
Requirements:
- High standard of integrity and professionalism;
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation;
- Commercial painting experience ( Journeyman skill level );
- Drug free at all times;
- Dry wall experience a plus.
