Senior Construction Inspector Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Construction Inspector to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performing field and laboratory testing according to applicable standards;
- Create daily reports to document all quantities, equipment and labor using Site Manager software;
- Managing field inspectors;
- Monitor and record materials certifications in accordance with the client’s procedures;
- Dealing directly with clients and team members;
- Responds to questions and complaints regarding codes and regulations, inspection schedules, and inspection results;
- Supervise and guide other inspection staff;
- Makes written recommendations about progress payments, contract change orders, and as-built plans;
- Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation;
- Inspects properties and materials for compliance with plans, specifications and codes, including both new and existing improvements;
- Senior Inspectors’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
- Responds to requests from the engineering staff to review and comment on plans, specifications and construction methods for upcoming projects;
- Inspect work site for proper traffic control setup;
- Inspect erosion control devices, ensure they are maintained and that they are in compliance with applicable permits.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- Current SESC MDEQ Certification;
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Class “C” California driver’s license is required;
- Current California PE License preferred;
- FieldBook / FieldManager Trained;
- Past experience on MDOT, County, and/or City projects;
- Capable of administering the contract for construction on multiple fast-pace projects;
- Strong organizational/supervisory skills;
- Knowledge of;
- Surveying experience;
- Familiarity with 4-Book method of recordkeeping;
- Knowledge of SiteManager, Bluebeam, Procore, MSWord, MS Excel helpful;
- Ability to work with personnel at all levels of development activity: public/private; contractors/workers;
- Ability to anticipate problems and master details;
- Good communication and writing skills.
