The Senior Electrician ensures all work performed meets required safety codes. Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Being a Senior Electrician generally required to complete an apprenticeship. Uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. In addition, Senior Electrician typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Typically requires an Electrician’s license granted by state. Being a Senior Electrician has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Working as a Senior Electrician typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Senior Electrician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages fire alarm systems including repairs, maintenance, troubleshooting, and impairments for projects and maintenance activities;
  • Manages electrical upgrades and electrical repair projects. Solicit quotations and review contractor proposals;
  • Insures all scheduled work is reviewed for compliance and impact to processes is minimal;
  • Coordinates and schedules all maintenance activities with customers including repairs, preventive maintenance, new installation and upgrades;
  • Orders all electrical spares and maintains inventory;
  • Technical Support – Perform operational repairs as required to support Asset Management and Project Development;
  • With limited supervision, constructs commercial office space by providing overall electrical capabilities;
  • General knowledge of building codes, regulations and safety procedures;
  • Interpret basic schematics and diagrams;
  • Frequent reaching above shoulder level, climbing, kneeling, bending, and continuous standing;
  • Work in-tandem with contractors as required;
  • Responds to trouble calls and resolves a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity;
  • Repairs and maintains power plant and office facilities equipment and can demonstrate advanced skill level in these areas;
  • May provide guidance and training to peers and/or customers on the general use of equipment;
  • May receive specialized equipment training.

Requirements:

  • Experience with power generation equipment ;
  • Technical writing skills and ability to document per GMP;
  • Good knowledge of plant facility systems and utilities;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and execute scheduled plant shutdowns for high voltage, UPS’s, ATS’s, and electrical distribution;
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license for 5+ years;
  • Experience with infra-red scanning (thermography);
  • Extensive experience in bio-tech industry preferred but not mandatory;
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to coordinate, train, and supervise contractors at multiple locations simultaneously;
  • Experience with industrial fire alarm systems.
