Skilled Construction Laborer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Skilled Construction Laborer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Hauling heavy materials and debris;
- Trenching/digging;
- Provide assistance to contractors (i.e. craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed;
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner;
- Follow instructions and use tools and equipment to complete daily tasks;
- Prepare construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment;
- Consult team leaders and manager on construction plans;
- Train on experienced tasks and learn new tasks from co-workers;
- Basic Use of Tools;
- Ensure regulated and proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn;
- Complete previous projects or receive new project instructions from construction manager or supervisor;
- Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly;
- Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials;
- Assists or trains other construction workers as needed;
- Performs tasks involving physical labor at commercial construction sites.
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation;
- Must have reliable transportation;
- Must be safety orientated;
- Must have 1+yrs experience in construction;
- At least two years of construction experience;
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds;
- Work boots;
- High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus;
- Good work ethic;
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team;
- Two years of previous experience in construction preferred;
- Tools;
- Must be in good physical condition in order to push, pull, carry objects and preform other tasks as assigned by site Superintendent;
- Ability to operate basic equipment – forklift, skid loader, water pump, etc;
- Willingness and ability to preform skilled construction duties following verbal and/or written instructions.
