Utility Person assists utility and line crews with general help at job site. Moves and/or locates equipment and materials. Being an Utility Person cleans and maintains tools, work areas, and vehicles utilized by crews. May perform basic meter connection, reading, and maintenance tasks. Additionally, Utility Person follows all safety regulations and procedures. Work is performed outdoors and indoors. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Utility Person works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed quality standards and production schedule;
- Keep warehouse area clean and organized removing waste streams. Meet all safety, quality, and production goals;
- Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area;
- Empty all dock garbage containers and place loose or damaged cases in the partial area for reuse;
- Works with fellow operators as a team to achieve safety, quality, and production goals;
- Must follow and all safety rules and requirements to include proper lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing of proper PPE, etc.
Requirements:
- High school or GED; Trade school education, certification, or professional training highly desired;
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds of weight throughout the workday;
- Must use Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. safety shoes, dust mask, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.);
- Must be able to work in a noisy and constantly changing environment;
- Basic math skills;
- Good communication skills;
- Ability to work with minimum supervision;
- Forklift experience required;
- Good Attendance;
- Ability to record data onto a spreadsheet.
