Our company is looking for a Art Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach students the knowledge and skills of elements of design and principles of art;
  • Participate in end of year summative review with Division Head;
  • Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work;
  • Attend faculty, staff, and division meetings;
  • Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and provide trimester assessments;
  • Develop an aesthetic understanding and appreciation that allows students to make qualitative judgments about art;
  • Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting;
  • Further the students’ knowledge of visual arts and media through art theory and history;
  • Attend workshops and other professional development opportunities to continue to grow professionally in the areas of gifted and art education;
  • Maintain communication with parents, faculty, staff, and students.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical art skills (especially in drawing and painting);
  • Laid-back, fun, playful, and outgoing personality You need to be friendly, but firm in a playful way with students;
  • Reliability and proactiveness is a MUST;
  • Physical requirements include being able to be on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time;
  • Ability to build rapport with students;
  • Must be able to commit to a regular schedule of at least one shift each week for a minimum of two semesters;
  • College student or graduate preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university;
  • Familiar with using current technology integrated in the art curriculum;
  • Capability to develop and maintain appropriate working relationships with parents;
  • Certification in Art Education strongly preferred;
  • Experience working in a team teaching environment and with interdisciplinary projects;
  • Knowledge of the academic and emotional needs of gifted students is highly preferred;
  • Demonstrated lead teaching experience.
