Our company is looking for a Early Childhood Lead Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nominal cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately and perform major cleaning during times when children are not present;
  • Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate materials;
  • Participation in Professional Development sessions as required by designated program;
  • Create a multi-cultural learning environment and respect cultural and ethnic diversity;
  • Observes and assesses students for creating and maintaining individual profiles, portfolios and parent conferences;
  • Understands daily need for small group/whole group interactive learning;
  • Plan and implement a classroom schedule for both active and quiet play, that develop children’s self-esteem, learning opportunities and social skills;
  • Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned in support of agency and program needs and operations;
  • Must meet and maintain requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and/or agency policies and procedures;
  • Assists parents in following classroom procedures and policies (i.e.: labeling child’s belongings, follow through with classroom schedule, etc.);
  • Encourage children to talk with each other and with the faculty;
  • Maintain the classroom Parent Board;
  • Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress);
  • Present age and developmentally appropriate expectations for all children.

Requirements:

  • Ability to write and implement lesson plans that are appropriate to the age group involved in accordance with the curriculum;
  • Abides and understands all licensing procedures including all state licensing entities, Fire Dept., Health Dept., etc;
  • Ability to convey a positive attitude at all times while working with children, parents and other staff members including administration;
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain;
  • Exceptional organization and planning skills;
  • Must be computer proficient with basic proficiency computer skills (access to email and internet.);
  • Ability to communicate and follow the philosophy of positive reinforcement and redirection.
