Our company is looking for a Early Head Start Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop curriculum activities that reflect the ethnic/multi-cultural makeup of the community;
  • Assist in ensuring that all health and developmental screenings are up-to-date;
  • Responsible for ensuring that daily activities and interactions reflect the mission and goals of the program;
  • Evaluate the accomplishments of the children on a regular basis and reports progress;
  • Plan and conduct at least two conferences and two home visits per child;
  • Maintain compliance with day-care licensing and HHS regulations;
  • Ability and desire for personal and professional growth and skill development;
  • Plan and implement outdoor activities that develop gross motor skills;
  • Plan assignments and participate in the performance review of the assistant teacher;
  • Plan and implement an individual service plan for each child in the classroom;
  • Advancing parent leadership development;
  • Be committed to the vision and mission of Community Progress Council and Early Head Start/Head Start of York County;
  • Participating in supervision meetings and workshops within the agency and outside (if applicable);
  • Participating in agency outreach and recruitment events, including evenings and weekends;
  • Participates in civic engagement activities that advance the mission of Gads Hill Center.

Requirements:

  • Must at least have auto liability insurance and must keep it current;
  • Must consent to and pass an initial health examination;
  • Must be able to drive an automobile, full size pickup, and a van;
  • Must consent to and pass agency drug testing;
  • Must consent to and pass state felony, Central Registry Check, and/or FBI background check when applicable;
  • Must have a working telephone, cell phone or pager;
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with immediate access to a legally insured vehicle;
  • Must maintain a current TB Screening;
  • Previous professional experience working with infants and toddlers;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or Elementary Education with a ZA (or Early Childhood) endorsement required.
