Our company is looking for a Lead Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with parents and prospective parents to achieve success for the child;
- Create fun and interactive learning experiences while serving as mentors to fellow Teachers;
- Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards;
- Create and deliver lesson plans, implement school curriculum, and assess developmental needs of students;
- Communicate positively with students, parents and staff;
- Meet all applicable licensing regulations and follow the LFDP’s policies and procedures;
- Respond developmentally appropriate to the children’s needs and behavior;
- Conduct continuous assessment of children’s development though daily observations and bi-annual developmental screenings;
- Establish and maintain daily open communication and cooperative relationships with each child’s family;
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director;
- Ensures necessary documentation around First Aid and Infant/Child CPR with AED training is met on a bi-annual basis;
- Performs other similar or related duties as necessary;
- Must meet state requirements for position;
- Prepares classroom portion of monthly newsletter;
- Schedules field trips and speakers for monthly programs as directed by management.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills;
- Must meet state requirements for education and additional center/school requirements may apply;
- Dependability and maturity;
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment of respect and rapport to ensure a positive learning experience for youth with diverse backgrounds;
- Use effective instructional strategies to meet the academic needs of the students;
- the ability to comply in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare;
- the ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies; and;
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing needs of children;
- Flexibility within hours of operation;
- the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, children and parents;
- A current CDA or Early Childhood Teaching Credential;
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development;
- An Associate’s degree or higher in a related field, including 18 semester hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8;
- Cooperation and willingness to work in team setting;
- 1-3 years of experience in a childcare center.
