Our company is looking for a Librarian to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists customers and helps develop protocol for e-book services, devices and trouble shooting;
  • Performs high level reference searches using library resources, on-line databases and other reputable sources;
  • Plan and facilitate programs for adults, teens and children;
  • Engages in outreach to schools and other community organizations and agencies that serve teens and adults;
  • Coordinates daily activities of staff and volunteers assigned to teen and adult services;
  • Leverages community experts, coaches and mentors for services and programs in order to meet the needs and interests of teens and adults;
  • Assists with the development of customer support;
  • Assists the Regional Supervisor in preparing staff evaluations;
  • Instructs teens and adults in information gathering, research skills and digital literacy skills;
  • Assists with the identification and selection of e-resources, virtual web resources, etc;
  • May work on joint regional library service committees and user groups representing the Aurora Public Library;
  • Processes resources and effectively manages and promotes the library collection;
  • Coordinates the work of staff assistants, volunteers, and interns pertaining to assigned collections;
  • Collaborates with the other curators in on collaborative projects and exhibitions involving both transportation collections;
  • Participates in providing special collections reference service and staffing Rare Book Reading Room.

Requirements:

  • Ability to provide support to library users;
  • Ability to work evening hours; and, weekend hours at some locations;
  • Digital literacy and strong technology skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Willingness to keep up-to-date with changes in the profession and technological advances;
  • Teamwork and self-management skills;
  • Develop unique programs tailored to the needs of Fort Lupton;
  • Experience working in a library, preferably a school library, and/or relevant teaching experience;
  • Demonstrated engagement in student life outside the classroom and ability to work with a diverse student population;
  • Continue the tradition of the Library being a welcoming, supportive and inviting place for all;
  • Bring their passion for teen and adult programming and creativity to Fort Lupton;
  • Curate the best and most relevant resources for our youth and adults;
  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution, or equivalent School Library certification;
  • Reach out to our community and create connections with the people who serve our you and families.
