Paraprofessional Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Paraprofessional to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing classroom routines;
- Assist teacher in preparing materials for the day;
- Assist with physical education, music, swimming and health programs;
- Follow schedule and daily lesson plan for each child’s program;
- Improve social skills;
- Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage;
- Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers;
- Discuss assigned duties with classroom teacher(s) in order to coordinate instructional efforts;
- Plan, prepare, and develop various teaching aids under the guidance of the classroom teacher;
- Observe students’ performances, and record relevant data to assess progress;
- Organize and label materials, and display students’ work;
- Prepare bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations;
- Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, gymnasiums, and/or field trips;
- Atten d staff meetings and serve on committees as required;
- Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
Requirements:
- Must have New Hampshire state teaching license or comparable certification;
- Must have Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Early Childhood Development, Education;
- Previous teaching experience for elementary school student preferred;
- Valid teaching license – preferred;
- Must meet the state requirements for being a paraprofessional;
- Will have knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, or mathematics;
- Previous experience working in a school or with elementary experience – preferred;
- Experience working as a paraprofessional/teaching assistant;
- 1:1 with K – 12; Several Positions Available;
- Title 1 Paraeducator Permit in the State of DE; 1 – 2 years in SPED Preferred.
