Our company is looking for a School Age Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing children with opportunities to explore and discover;
  • Boo-Boo and Oh-No reports should be sent to the front desk prior to the parent’s arrival;
  • Use the telephone in your classroom if you need assistance or have questions. (NEVER LEAVE YOUR CLASS OUT OF RATIO);
  • Follow daily schedule for meal, snacks, and outside play time;
  • Children should be given an opportunity to do homework each afternoon;
  • Greet each child and parent as they enter the classroom;
  • Keep decorations in your classroom up to date;
  • Display children’s work;
  • Be knowledgeable of playground safety;
  • Greet each parent as they arrive to pick up their child;
  • Keep Franchisee, Director, or Assistant Director informed of needed structure or equipment repairs;
  • Plan activities using the Kids ‘R’ Kids Monthly Activity Calendar during the school year;
  • Request supplies needed for your class 7 days in advance;
  • Follow the recommendations on the Cleaning Chart to properly sanitize and disinfect your classroom and equipment;
  • Be prepared for parent/teacher conferences.

Requirements:

  • 12 Early Childhood Education Units required (Please do not apply if you don’t have the 12 units );
  • Computer skills, educational software;
  • CPR/First Aid Certification;
  • Patience and flexibility;
  • This position requires comprehensive knowledge and understanding of behavioral and developmental stages of children;
  • Ability to manage a classroom including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills;
  • Knowledge of OCC licensing requirements;
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved and to respond immediately to any emergency situation;
  • Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid Training;
  • Be willing to participate in continuing education as required by the child care regulatory agency.
