Our company is looking for a Special Education Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Use all data from formal and informal measures to write vocational assessments;
  • Employ techniques for positive behavioral support;
  • Obtains approval, requisitions and purchases class equipment and materials;
  • Participates in activities pertaining to student transitioning;
  • Complete clinical paperwork as required;
  • In-services staff who work with the service users on habilitation programs so that training can be generalized across settings and people;
  • Revises plans as needed to facilitate ongoing progress on objectives;
  • Demonstrate positive work ethic by actively seeking student growth and offering suggestions for program improvement;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR;
  • Support general school procedures: such as arrival, lunch schedules, dismissal, cleaning tasks, field trips, etc;
  • Time management, attention to detail and organization;
  • Review behavioral data to determine trends;
  • To participate in general staff meetings, when appropriate;
  • To participate in IEP/IFSP meetings.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in schools and with children;
  • At least six months of related teaching experience is preferred;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education for Day Care and Universal Pre-K programs. Master’s Degree preferred;
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Special Education;
  • Ability to read and write proficiently using the English language;
  • Must hold a valid teacher license in special education for the state in which you are applying;
  • Active or eligible Teaching license for Massachusetts;
  • Must have experience working with students with ASD;
  • Hold valid Oregon teaching license with Special Education endorsement;
  • Candidates with experience working with at-risk students;
  • Math and/or English endorsement(s) desired;
  • Clear Criminal Background;
  • Coaching experience;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and high attention to detail;
  • Time management, attention to detail and organization.
