Teacher Aide provides assistance to classroom teacher in preparing lesson plans and instructing students. Evaluates and monitors student’s performance. Being a Teacher Aide may require a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Teacher Aide relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to the principal. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

- Dropping off and picking up children from nearby schools, as needed;
- Recruits youth for the after-school homework assistance program and other activities;
- Assisting the Family Youth Advisor and Resident Services Supervisor with office tasks related to running the program;
- Travels with youth on field trips and escorting after school participants to various activity locations within the program;
- Provides youth with positive alternatives to drug activity;
- Works closely with youth and their families and offers support when needed;
- Maintaining daily attendance;
- Maintains current records of participants, i.e., name, address, phone number, emergency medical forms, field trip permission forms, etc;
- Helping children to cope with daily social interaction;
