3rd Shift Warehouse Supervisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a 3rd Shift Warehouse Supervisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements;
- Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items;
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications;
- Accomplishes warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed;
- Assists in reviewing and maintaining crewing levels and optimizing to meet or surpass NPF cost targets;
- Conducts interviews, appraisal performances, on boarding, and disciplinary meetings including terminations;
- Facilities department training programs;
- Oversees the work activities and professional training and development of 20 to 30 direct reports;
- Supervises department for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives;
- Reviews inventory records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow-moving and excess stock;
- Assists in developing and carrying out department’s goals, objectives, and systems;
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested;
- Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place;
- Monitors employee’s adherence to company rules and policies and takes necessary corrective action if needed;
- Support the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system (SQF) and quality programs.
Requirements:
- Must have 2+ years of warehouse experience in a leadership role;
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications;
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus;
- 5S and lean manufacturing principles highly desired;
- Prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines;
- Sound technical skills, logical ability, and strong problem analysis and resolutions skills with a strong operational focus;
- Minimum of one (1) year Supervisory experience;
- Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees;
- Previous experience in a food facility preferred;
- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment;
- Good interpersonal, as well as strong written and oral communications skills;
- Computer proficiency to execute transactions and enter counts/corrections required Ability to use handheld data logging equipment required;
- Ability to influence and promote change on all levels of the organization;
- Ability to demonstrate discretion and business ethics;
- Previous fork lift experience and experience with bar coding and automatic data collection would be helpful.
