Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates initiatives within the organization to minimize waste in packaging, labeling and associated steps in the packaging workflow process;
  • Trains staff in proper use of tools and equipment;
  • Accountable for hiring and retaining a diverse, highly qualified staff and for providing career coaching, growth and personal development;
  • Has direct supervisory responsibility for labeling and packaging operations;
  • Provides input for document changes and process improvements for the Packaging department;
  • Develops and tracks product schedules. Establishes and tracks metrics for the labeling and packaging requirements for new and legacy products;
  • Exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status;
  • Manages the training of team members on new or revised packaging related documents and procedures;
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors;
  • Equipment: List the type of equipment the incumbent will utilize in this position;
  • Develops short/long strategies to resolve problems/delays in labeling and packaging systems;
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Requires demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail;
  • Typically, a minimum of four years of relevant work experience related to product packaging and labeling;
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner;
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance;
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment;
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization;
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail;
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in science, business, or a related field, or equivalent;
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
