Swim Instructor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Swim Instructor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Educating members about the benefits of aquatic services and our programs to ultimately provide them encouragement in reaching their goals;
- Providing a safe and enjoyable aquatics for every person, every time;
- Organizing and preparing the aquatics facility for appropriate utilization including equipment setup and storage and moving lane markers as needed;
- Accurately recording and measuring class attendance in comparison to class targets;
- Assist with staffing of the sign up table at the beginning of registration as required by Aquatics Manager and Aquatic Director;
- Meet EVERY week after week 3 of the 8 week group swim lesson session on progress to all goals;
- Follow Weymouth Club Sales and Retention Process;
- Teach by, and uphold the quality of the Weymouth Club Swim Instructor Curriculum;
- Lifeguards between Lessons;
- Build rapport with all clients and clients parents;
- Assist Director with inbound and outbound marketing materials as directed;
- Assist with other swim instructors the creation of unique promotions for swim lesson programs;
- Conducts swim lessons;
- Return all phone, email, web inquiries within 24 hours;
- Teach classes up to 5 kids and teach private one on one instruction.
Requirements:
- Safety and customer service oriented;
- Must be willing to clean and disinflect pool area, toys, and equipment during down time;
- Ability to build rapport with clients;
- Must be able to be in the water up to 7.5 hours;
- Good Judgment and decision making;
- Must be available one weekend day per week;
- Demonstrate proper swim form and technique;
- Monitoring pool and surrounding area;
- Positive Persuasion;
- Must be reliable and punctual;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Passionate, energetic, optimistic and happy personality;
- Highly collaborative, “get-it-done” nature;
- Always punctual and dependable;
- Instructs swimming lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
