Climber Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Climber to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Hazard tree assessment & diagnosis;
- Assisting with tree pruning and removals;
- Assisting with trimming, clearing, chipping, and disposing of trees;
- Help ensure other crew members follow Company safety policies and procedures;
- Maintaining climbing gear and tree care equipment to ensure safe, high quality service;
- Cabling & bracing of trees;
- Defining the staging area and safe zones on the jobsite and identifying the work area to protect the public from falling debris.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of lift and boom use & safety;
- Knowledge of chipper use and safety;
- Strong work ethic;
- Knowledge of pruning principles and techniques;
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & hand);
- Knowledge of basic knots and rope operation for rigging;
- Must present a positive personal image;
- Ability to identify potential aerial electrical hazards;
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL’s preferred);
- Knowledge of advanced climbing techniques and equipment;
- Knowledge of cabling and bracing;
- Knowledge of advanced chain saw use and felling techniques;
- Knowledge of tree identification and basic tree biology;
- Self-motivated team player;
- General Hazard recognition.
