Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and/ or document any information regarding residents to the appropriate supervisor. Keep required administrative and food service records;
  • Post current, accurate menus, with documented substitutions;
  • Adhere to all menus, recipes, and production systems;
  • Manage overall food and dining services in the absence of the Food Service Manager.

Requirements:

  • Possession of Department of Health training certificate, or ability to obtain one once hired;
  • Valid Food Handlers certification;
  • Some expertise in assisting staff in dealing with children with feeding problems or special nutritional needs;
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred;
  • Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest;
  • Strive for excellence in all aspects of the job;
  • The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time and work overtime as needed;
  • The ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation;
  • Work harmoniously with other employees and develop/maintain good employee relations and employee morale;

  • Experience with dining services in a Chef, Cook, Sous Chef or Dietary Aide role;
  • Supervisory experience is a plus;
  • Valid Driver’s license preferred;
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds;
  • Requires climbing two flights of stairs regularly.
