Barback Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Barback to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer;
- Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, if needed;
- Responding to guests needs and requests;
- Displaying a positive attitude and helping team members and managers when necessary;
- Practicing proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment;
- Employing good safety and sanitation practices;
- Restock the bar with straws, coasters and napkins;
- Collect empty glasses and bottles;
- Tidy up tables, counters and other bar areas;
- Change out beer kegs and replace liquor bottles;
- Remove trash and wipe down drink spills;
- Taking orders, preparing drinks, bussing tables, opening tabs, and processing payments especially during peak hours;
- Refill ice bins;
- Speaking to customers, answering questions, handling complaints;
- Maintain records and report levels of usage to assist in reordering process and ensuring that delivered items are stored properly.
Requirements:
- Following all uniform guidelines;
- Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests;
- Performing duties which require bending & reaching;
- Recycling products, where possible;
- Practicing all general safety standards;
- Follows all food safety & sanitation procedures;
- Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency;
- Maintaining a well-groomed appearance (“having a plan”);
- Remaining calm in a hectic, fact paces atmosphere;
- Minimum age to serve alcohol;
- Knowledge of menu items, including beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors;
- TABC;
- Observant and thorough;
- Responsible, punctual;
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holiday and overtime as needed.
