Catering Sous Chef Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Catering Sous Chef to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibilities of lead culinarian in the absence of the Executive Chef;
- Leads and directs the catering team to include cooks, bakers and general utility;
- Responsible to schedule and staff all Catering back of the house employees in an efficient manner.
Requirements:
- Ability to reach, bends, stood, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds;
- Willingness to be open to learning and growing;
- Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential;
- Must comply with any dress code requirements;
- Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity;
- Requires complete knowledge of kitchen equipment;
- Maturity of judgment and behavior;
- Involved with the more complex requirements of the position;
- Applies advanced cooking skills;
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect;
- Significant walking or other means of mobility;
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours);
- Ability to work a flexible schedule helpful;
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses;
- Ability to use a computer.
