Our company is looking for a Cook – Per Diem to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment;
  • Prepares special menu items in a timely manner;
  • Prepares all food to each recipe portions and weights;
  • Follows company recipes to maintain consistency;
  • Cooks foods in batches, to ensure quality food without running out of prescribed items;
  • Completes assigned daily cleaning agendas before end of shift;
  • Preparing altered texture diets and tray line service;
  • Supplies Café and tray line serving line foods in a timely manner;
  • Uses gloves and hair covering when serving and handling food, and changes gloves frequently;
  • Follows standardized recipes;
  • Assists Café workers on the serving line during meal periods;
  • Prepares cook – to – order foods in a quick and efficient manner during service periods;
  • Checks freshness and quality of all food products and reports problems to a manager or supervisor;
  • Safely preparing meals;
  • Displays knowledge of kitchen equipment and its proper uses.

Requirements:

  • Nursing home cooking experience is required;
  • Food safety or ServSafe certificate desirable.
