Dietary Aide – Part Time Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Dietary Aide – Part Time to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Attend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements;
- Others as directed by the supervisor or administrator;
- Serve the prepared menu items according to meal plan;
- Sets and cleans tables in dining areas;
- Work as directed by the supervisor;
- Keeps condiment containers filled and assures that necessary dining room supplies are available as needed;
- Maintains required safety standards and proper sanitation;
- Assist in any preparation area as assigned;
- Perform any sanitation function such as dishwashing, pots and pans, or any cleaning as assigned;
- Monitors the nurse’s stations and re-stocks necessary food items each day;
- Responsible for learning and utilizing technology made available by the agency to increase efficiency, communication and performance of duties;
- Follows established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks;
- Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill & Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information;
- Assists Cooks as needed;
- Checks daily patient menus with current diet orders and tabulates patient’s menu selections on tally sheets.
Requirements:
- Perform Essential Duties as outlined above;
- Experience in hospital or skilled nursing facility dietary department preferred;
- Comply with the Residents’ Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures;
- Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations;
- Temperament: Ability to get along with others and be able to function under stressful situations;
- Physical Demand: Able to lift up to 30 pounds and work in hot or cold environments. Able to stand for lengthy periods of time;
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred;
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly;
- Must be able to work under supervision;
- Must be in good mental and physical condition;
- Must have knowledge of, or be willing to learn, correct sanitation procedures and use these on a daily basis;
- Possesses strong verbal communication skills;
- Previous experience working in a team environment;
- Must be able to push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance;
- Must be willing to perform repetitive tasks daily.
