Dish Washer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Dish Washer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Removes trash from kitchen and places trash in dumpster;
- Other duties as assigned by Company Management;
- Assists in kitchen where needed;
- Assists in other areas of the restaurant when needed;
- Completes opening and/or closing checklists;
- Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled;
- Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans;
- Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures;
- Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc;
- Maintains dish machine. Ensures it is operating correctly. Reports any defects immediately. Cleans and polishes machine thoroughly on a regular basis;
- Preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations;
- Wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes;
- Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into dish machine;
- Empty trash containers regularly;
- Perform additional cleaning duties as requested.
Requirements:
- Must have a sense of urgency;
- Must be organized, flexible, and detail-oriented;
- Ability to effectively communicate with other employees;
- Entry-level position;
- Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds;
- Minimal work experience;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
- Exceptional time management skills;
- Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving quickly;
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays;
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
- Restaurant or customer service experience preferred;
- Ability to read, write and speak English;
- Must be able to stand continuously throughout an 8 hour shift.
