Experienced Line Cook Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Experienced Line Cook to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking;
- Check food while cooking;
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages;
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen;
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served;
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations;
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant;
- Responsible for the quality of products served;
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods;
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment;
- Substitute for or assist other cooks or expediters during emergencies or rush periods;
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to support a smooth service period;
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement;
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed;
- Season and cook food according to recipes.
Requirements:
- ServSafe or Wisconsin Food Manager Certification;
- Able to communicate effectively with managers and team members.
