Food Service Worker Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Food Service Worker to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Clean work area, utensils, and equipment; remove garbage; mop floors, walls, windows, and tables;
- Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times;
- Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for food preparation;
- Positively interacts with customers/students;
- May clean and sanitize work stations and equipment and must follow all Perkins Management, client and regulatory rules, policies and procedures;
- Sets up stations with necessary condiments and utensils;
- Any other reasonable request as detailed by management;
- Make coffee in urns. Assist in the set-up of serving lines;
- Meet with manager upon arrival to discuss shift set-up, and check out with manager before leaving to ensure duties are completed;
- Sets up assigned area and maintains adequate supplies during shift;
- Prepares food/Completes order and may serve customer/student;
- Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items;
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner;
- Receive payment from the customer and process change;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Clean work area, utensils, and equipment; remove garbage; mop floors, walls, windows, and tables;
- Replace glassware, dishes, and silverware and refill condiment containers. Wipe and wash tables and counter tops;
- You will check all food items for acceptability and appropriateness for diet order;
- You will delivers trays to patients and report patients’ comments;
- You will provide training to same or lower grade employees when asked by a Supervisor;
- You will rejects any unacceptable food items and requests replacement items for them;
- You will discards outdated, improperly labeled and stored items;
- You will operate and clean a variety of food service equipment;
- You will receive meal orders and coordinate the assembly of patient meals;
- You will follow proper food handling techniques utilizing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and facility policies and procedures;
- You will neatly arrange and place hot and cold food items, appropriate condiments, desserts, beverages, and flatware on patient tray;
- You will discuss and report all system problems to Kitchen Supervisor or Operations Manager;
- Make coffee in urns. Assist in the set-up of serving lines;
- Food service experience is preferred but not required;
- Customer service experience.
