Our company is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring food prep areas are clean and hygienic;
  • Food prep including tea service trays, soup, salad, savories and other specialty dishes;
  • Making tea sandwiches;
  • Cleaning the food prep equipment and other tools or areas;
  • Prepare, cook and present food safely, quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards;
  • Planning/Preparation Assisting with proper daily class preparation and execution as directed by Chef Instructor and/or Resident Chef;
  • Making preparations for the next day’s classes and events;
  • Cleaning workstations;
  • Dish area cleanliness and trash removal;
  • Setting up workstations before classes and events;
  • Assisting and instructing dishwashers;
  • Always adhere to all company policies and procedures;
  • Work safely around kitchen equipment;
  • Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy, at all times;
  • Assisting with shopping for class ingredients.

Requirements:

  • Ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, to climb stairs, step ladders;
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize;
  • Highly organized and reliable, proactive self-starter;
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable car;
  • Ability to professionally execute projects with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Testing and or quality experience with culinary equipment, a plus;
  • 1+ year related culinary/kitchen experience, preferred;
  • Experience working in high volume kitchen.
