Prep Cook – Part Time Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Prep Cook – Part Time to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly;
- Carry pans and trays of food to and from work station, steam table and coolers;
- Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude;
- Ability to use slicers, mixers, food processors, etc;
- Clean and maintain the kitchen area;
- Performs other related duties as assigned;
- Prepare a variety of foods with different methods of preparation;
- Must be able to stand for the majority of shift;
- Must be able to work in a face paced environment;
- Follow recipes and prepare simple dishes;
- Mix, wash, peel, chop, grind, strain, slice meat and vegetables;
- Weigh and measure ingredients;
- Label stock and inventory all ingredients;
- Basic cooking functions such as kneading dough, and preparing sauces;
- Sanitize and prepare equipment and workstation for cooking.
Requirements:
- Neat, responsible person with strong desire to serve people;
- Ability to obtain a food service sanitation certificate;
- Must enjoy working with the senior population;
- Ability to read, write and speak English;
- Knowledge of basic restaurant service and pleasant attitude;
- Must be able to pass a drug and criminal background check;
- Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal;
- Ability to communicate and listen to team members;
- Experience as a Prep Cook a plus.
