Our company is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant CMA to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and carry out provider orders and follow up;
  • Perform all duties in accordance with clinical, OSHA and infection control at all times;
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times according to USMD policy and procedures and HIPPA requirements;
  • Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures and controlled substance regulations;
  • Coordinate out-patient testing and referrals, as well as hospital pre-admission when necessary;
  • Prepare, restock, and disinfect examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area, and all other patient;
  • Record patients’ medical history, health maintenance and chief complaint;
  • Works with health care team to meet established productivity standards;
  • Answering telephones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments;
  • Greets patients and provides instructions on appointments and procedures;
  • Preparing patients for exams;
  • Filing insurance paperwork and updating medical records;
  • Prepares patients for their examination with assigned physician/provider pursuant to established protocol;
  • Must obtain and properly document vitals, patient history and medications in the electronic medical record;
  • Ordering supplies and equipment for the medical office.

Requirements:

  • Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures and treatments;
  • Monitoring;
  • Assist nurse/physician with physical exams, procedures and treatments;
  • Administer medication to inmates/residents under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator;
  • Social perceptiveness;
  • Experience: 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Obtain, monitor, record and report vital signs and patient’s condition as needed;
  • Active listening;
  • Education: Associate’s degree;
  • OB/GYN or family planning experience preferred;
  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking candidates preferred;
  • Graduate of a training program for Medical Assistants with CMA certification by AAMA or ARMA;
  • Experience operating autoclave, centrifuge and blood pressure equipment preferred;
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems preferred; prior working knowledge of NextGen system preferred;
  • 3 year’s work experience in health care, customer service, or medical office preferred.
