Certified Nurse Midwife provides professional care for patients with obstetric and gynecologic needs. Assists patients in labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care. Being a Certified Nurse Midwife ensures safety and health of mother and child and identifies need for additional care. Works in conjunction with a practicing physician. Additionally, Certified Nurse Midwife requires a bachelor’s degree. Must be a Registered Nurse, and certified as Nurse Midwife. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Certified Nurse Midwife’s years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position’s specialty is the main requirement.

Our company is looking for a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • POSTPARTUM Provides health supervision, care, teaches family planning, and prescribes contraception to women during the postpartum period.

Requirements:

  • Follows guidelines set forth in Legacy’s Values in Action;
  • Consults appropriately with consulting physicians;
  • Ability to work with people in a diplomatic and tactful manner, utilizing effective leadership and group process skills;
  • Current applicable state license as a Registered Nurse/ Nurse Midwife/ Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required;
  • Current CPR Certification;
  • Follows all organizational, regulatory and human resource policies and procedures;
  • National Certification as a Nurse Midwife (MW) required;
  • Provides collaborative care or referral to medical management as appropriate;
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment;
  • Practices full scope of Midwifery;
  • Three (3) years of experience as a C.N.M. with in the last three (3) years preferred;
  • Full scope women’s healthcare and midwifery experience preferred;
  • Able to conduct research;
  • Bilingual preferred but not required;
  • Practice includes full participation in outpatient and inpatient care.
