Additionally, Surgical Technologist – Certified may assist in patient transport. Requires completion of surgical technologist training course. Requires a high school diploma. Requires ORT or CST certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Surgical Technologist – Certified’s years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Our company is looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in inventory management, stocking and restocking medical supplies;
  • Inspect and sterilize medical instruments;
  • Anticipate surgeon needs during a procedure;
  • Prepare specimens for lab;
  • Perform other departmental duties as assigned;
  • Performs counts with the circulating surgical technologist before the start of surgery and prior to the incision;
  • Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the operating room and preps for next patient;
  • Cooperates with charge nurse and OR Manager in working toward common departmental goals;
  • Demonstrating knowledge of as well as supports the philosophy and objectives of the department;
  • Would prefer individual is also Certified Sterile Processing Technologist (CSPT);
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the responsibilities of a team member;
  • Assisting the surgical team in providing quality patient care;
  • Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization;
  • Makes sure all supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure are present and in working order;
  • Promotes effective communications between surgeon and staff.

Requirements:

  • Certified Surgical Technician;
  • Proficient in Excel & Word required;
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently;
  • OR experience at an ASC or hospital preferred;
  • BLS certification;
  • CPR Certification;
  • 1 year OR experience preferred;
  • Certification as Surgical Technologist (CST) by Association of Surgical Technologists (AST);
  • Graduate of accredited program of surgical technology;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Certification as a surgical technologist preferred, or similar experience in an operating room;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies located in the operating room;
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent;
  • 1-2 years experience working as a surgical technologist;
  • Current Basic Life Support certificate required.
