Our company is looking for a Continuous Improvement Leader to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all safety rules, policies and procedures;
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any defective PPE;
  • Report all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment or property damage;
  • Participation in the site Safety and Health Program;
  • May be asked to assist in temporarily filling vacancies at Key Positions at the various mills/Departments within Plymouth Tube and Warrenville;
  • Lead or participate in problem solving teams and kaizen events in order to improve operating performance;
  • Provide coordination and communication for change initiatives;
  • Support improvement activities that are consistent with the needs of the Plymouth Business System;
  • Contact for overall Lean improvement plan development and implementation;
  • Exchange experiences with Lean organizations in other areas;
  • Lead Kaizen events as and where needed;
  • Implement Lean within the Manufacturing and Supply chain organization;
  • Assist plant Lean teams in sustaining gains achieved in Lean efforts. —-Support management team in implementing the best practices;
  • Ensure consistency of Lean methods;
  • Provide intensive training for production teams and culture change within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately diagnose a problem, assess options and make recommendations;
  • Proven track record of developing teams;
  • Inspire and influence without authority and challenge status quo;
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt required;
  • 7+ years in operations, quality and continuous improvement;
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and be proactive on tasks and project handling;
  • Ability to organize and complete on time all project tasks, goals, timelines;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Travel up to 25% of the time, as required.
