Direct Care Staff Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Direct Care Staff to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Housekeeping/Facility Maintenance;
- Meal preparation;
- Laundry Task;
- Medication administration;
- Accompanies ambulatory patients outside of home;
- Care and Supervision;
- Various other duties as assigned;
- Carry out day to day recreation and leisure time programs;
- Provide training and supervision for youth in activities related to personal hygiene/housekeeping;
- Supervise youth behavior both on/off campus;
- Assisting clients with showers/bathing, shampooing, skin and nail care, oral hygiene, grooming and dressing;
- Other misc. duties may apply per clients’ needs;
- Laundry;
- Grocery shopping and meal preparation;
- Cleaning common areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, living/dining, and bedrooms.
Requirements:
- Service orientation;
- Excellent verbal and written communication;
- Monitoring;
- Active listening;
- Critical thinking;
- Education: Diploma/GED; CNA Experience Preferred;
- At least 2 years of related experience;
- PCA Certification (25 question test you’ll take);
- Have effective listening skills;
- Have reliable transportation with a good driving record, proper license and insurance;

- Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check;
- Ability to work well with others as well as individually;
- Be able to effectively read Care Plans as well as communicate both written and verbally;
- Be able to socialize and build positive relationships with clients.
