Our company is looking for a Full Time Direct Support Professional to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as required;
- Food shopping menu planning and meal preparation;
- Helps resolve member and family concerns;
- Attends required trainings, staff meetings, and other meetings/events as requested;
- Helps ensure a safe, clean, organized, environment;
- Provides assistance for daily living skills, supportive counseling and direct care assistance;
- Helping to arrange and attend social activities;
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards;
- Transporting members to and from work or day program, a medical appointment, etc;
- Assist individuals needs and develops an effective counseling/support relationship;
- Collaborate with families and superiors for best care opportunities;
- Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties.
Requirements:
- Car to use for work purposes;
- Willing and able to attend required trainings outside of normal work hours;
- valid driver’s license;
- High school diploma or GED required;
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Must be 18 years of age;
- Compassionate approach;
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing;
- High school diploma/GED NOT required;
- Reliability, responsible attitude;
- Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks.
