Homemaker/Companion Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Homemaker/Companion to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Alzheimer’s Care;
- Meal preparation and light cleaning tasks;
- Laundry;
- Transportation;
- Light meal preparation;
- Provide a caring ear for companionship;
- Other reasonable related duties as assigned;
- Promotes the client’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest;
- Provides general attention to clients’ non-medical needs following an established Service Plan;
- Observes and reports any changes in the client’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to immediate supervisor in a timely manner;
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication and a professional relationship with client’s, family members, and co-workers;
- May prepare and serve meals as directed and ensures that dishes are washed and kitchen is clean after each meal;
- Reminds client to take self-administered medications;
- Completes required documentation of services delivered and submits to office in a timely manner according to policy;
- Grocery shopping and other errands as listed on the Homemaker/Companion Activity Plan.
Requirements:
- Have a valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record;
- Have your own reliable transportation;
- Have ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect;
- 21 years or older;
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent;
- Have ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner;
- Authorization to work in the United States;
- Able to stand, sit, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds;
- Must have access to the internet;
- Able to function independently in the home setting with minimal direct supervision;
- Unrestricted Florida driver’s license and clean driving record;
- Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- Willing to drive to private homes in the area to perform the duties of this position;
- Must have a valid CT Driver’s License;
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check (paid for by the Agency).
