Our company is looking for a Homemaker/Companion to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Alzheimer’s Care;
  • Meal preparation and light cleaning tasks;
  • Laundry;
  • Transportation;
  • Light meal preparation;
  • Provide a caring ear for companionship;
  • Other reasonable related duties as assigned;
  • Promotes the client’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest;
  • Provides general attention to clients’ non-medical needs following an established Service Plan;
  • Observes and reports any changes in the client’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to immediate supervisor in a timely manner;
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and a professional relationship with client’s, family members, and co-workers;
  • May prepare and serve meals as directed and ensures that dishes are washed and kitchen is clean after each meal;
  • Reminds client to take self-administered medications;
  • Completes required documentation of services delivered and submits to office in a timely manner according to policy;
  • Grocery shopping and other errands as listed on the Homemaker/Companion Activity Plan.

Requirements:

  • Have a valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record;
  • Have your own reliable transportation;
  • Have ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect;
  • 21 years or older;
  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Have ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner;
  • Authorization to work in the United States;
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds;
  • Must have access to the internet;
  • Able to function independently in the home setting with minimal direct supervision;
  • Unrestricted Florida driver’s license and clean driving record;
  • Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
  • Willing to drive to private homes in the area to perform the duties of this position;
  • Must have a valid CT Driver’s License;
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check (paid for by the Agency).
