Our company is looking for a Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ascertain or work with attending psychiatrist or ED provider to determine medical clearance status of patient for BHU admission;
  • Formal and informal nursing education;
  • Serving a positive role model to colleagues;
  • Be available to do selective consultations on Med/Surg, ICU and Maternity unit in collaboration with Psychiatrist and as directed by BHU Unit Chief;
  • Be available for coverage on BHU when psychiatrist is covering for ECT (according to vacation/CME coverage plan);
  • Provide and support nursing leadership through;
  • Nurse Practitioners may be asked to serve on various hospital committees;
  • Responsible for doing psychiatric evaluations for patients admitted to Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) from the Emergency Department (ED);
  • Provide coverage for psychiatrist on BHU during vacation/CME time.

Requirements:

  • DEA License;
  • Inpatient experience preferred but not necessary;
  • Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Maine.
