Physician – Internal Medicine examines adult patients to ensure proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Requests necessary tests, and follow-up visits, and refers patients to specialists, as necessary. Being a Physician – Internal Medicine requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. Additionally, Physician – Internal Medicine may report to a medical director. Physician – Internal Medicine’s years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position’s specialty is the main requirement.

Our company is looking for a Internal Medicine Physician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to perform all duties and responsibilities as delineated in your deeming and scope of services as approved by the Medical Director;
  • Provide health education to adults, promote healthy lifestyles and importance of preventative health initiatives;
  • Maintain documentation notes and other relative documents on a regular basis;
  • Completes data entry and filing tasks as assigned by department leads;
  • Work with office equipment daily (Copiers, fax, scanners etc.);
  • Order appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays and other examinations;
  • Manage common medical problems encountered in primary care clinics and manage selected chronic illnesses;
  • Treat problems within the scope of competence and exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral or evaluation;
  • Initiate consultation requests to specialists and other health professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, etc;
  • Perform physical examinations required to evaluate medical problems;
  • Fill in for various positions as assigned by Management;
  • Participates in community service activities, including speaking engagements, writing and special clinical programs as reasonably requested;
  • Responsible for obtaining call coverage by other medical staff members for holidays, vacations and other time off;
  • Responsible for after-hours call coverage for patients of the practice, in addition to office appointments;
  • Responsible for all risk management, coding compliance and quality assurance activities and functions in and related to the practice.

Requirements:

  • Current California DEA certificate required to start;
  • Call: Assigned 1/2 day coverage every week and regional call 2x/year (Phone call only); No night call;
  • Average of 16-20 patients per day;
  • Fill in for various positions as assigned by Management;
  • DEA and NPI numbers;
  • NJ licensed or eligible for licensure in NJ;
  • Collaborative relationship with the hospitalist and specialty care service teams;
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine graduate;
  • Experienced physicians and new physicians are encouraged to apply;

  • Must board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine;
  • Basic Life Support (BLS);
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. Highly organized, self-directed and motivated. Creative and innovative problem solver;
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine.
