Our company is looking for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists physician during delivery, treatment, examination and surgical procedures;
  • Provides age and culturally appropriate care;
  • Instructs and educates patients and families;
  • Carries out physician orders;
  • Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs including obtaining patient history and assessing for labor risk factors;
  • Cares for patients requiring fetal assessment/fetal monitoring;
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required;
  • RN/NJ License;
  • Assists with the transfer of newborn to another facility when indicated;
  • Notifies charge nurse and House Supervisor of anticipated transfer;
  • Demonstrates knowledge of individual role in Hospital infant abduction plan;
  • Accurately identifies and bands newborn, mother and significant others with matching identabands;
  • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplinesfor well coordinated patient care;
  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition asappropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems;
  • Cares for patients requiring fetal assessment/fetalmonitoring.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse;
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program);
  • Current licensure as an RN;
  • Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Standards of Nursing Practice at Rose Medical Center;
  • 2-3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required in an acute care facility;
  • Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider, ACLS, and NRP;
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills;
  • Texas RN licensure or compact license with the ability to obtain permanent license in Texas;
  • Current New Mexico License as a Registered Nurse;
  • Graduate of an accreditedschool of professional nursing;
  • Critical thinking skills,decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in afast paced environment;
  • One year of experience as an RN preferred;
  • BLS, NRP, and PALS required. ACLS preferred;
  • Customer service abilitiesincluding effective listening skills;
  • Day and night shift opportunities.
