Our company is looking for a Licensed Optician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Attain sales goals established by management team while complying with company and local policies and procedures;
  • Verify that the lenses have been ground to specifications;
  • Assists patients and customers with the choice of frames: choose eyewear to best fit their budgetary requirements;
  • Measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for client according to written optical prescription or specification;
  • Determine clients’ current lens prescriptions, when necessary, using lensometers or lens analyzers and clients’ eyeglasses;
  • Arrange and maintain displays of optical merchandise;
  • Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments;
  • Obtain and review medical history and/or records from patient;
  • Understands back-up protocol for processing patients in the event of system outages;
  • Repair damaged frames;
  • Recommend specific lenses, and lens coatings to suit patient needs;
  • Develop professional business relationships with other associates and Doctors;
  • Attainment of plan sales goal and comp store sales growth;
  • Effectively train and develop associates to consistently provide a patient care focused experience;
  • Manage gross margin, in accordance with Company standards.

Requirements:

  • Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed patient expectations;
  • Ability to present and implement decisive and creative solutions to opportunities to grow the business;
  • Foster positive and results-oriented associate and doctor relationships;
  • Attention to detail and follow-up;
  • Willingness to take calculated risks;
  • Ability to manage priorities through adaptability and flexibility;
  • At least 3 or more years of related work experience as an Optician, dispensing contact lenses and glasses;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver an outstanding experience during direct interaction with patients;
  • State licensure or certification by a nationally-recognized opticianry association as an optician. EDUCATION;
  • Ability to recruit and select associates and doctors;
  • Success in store merchandising and attention to detail;
  • Ability to train (through practice and role-play), coach, and develop excellent patient focused, and sales and results-oriented associates;
  • Abilities to multi-task and delegate to maximize patient interaction;
  • Experience with personal computers preferred;
  • Ability to sell through use of sales skills and accountability for sales results.
