Our company is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care and the nursing processes;
  • Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment;
  • Integrates and implements referrals of inmates to the staff physician, nurse practitioner, dentist, mental health professional;
  • Uses clinical judgment in evaluation and responding to emergency medical situations involving inmates or staff;
  • Documents the patient’s plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions;
  • Monitors consistency between patient plan of care and actions of medical staff;
  • Participates in the orientation and continuing education of staff;
  • Documents patient’s response to nursing and other interventions;
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary;
  • Participates in the Health Quality Improvement Program;
  • Participates in infection control activities in accordance with department and as directed by Infection Control Coordinator;
  • Looks for signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition and reports to RN;
  • Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, treat and evaluate the patient/inmate.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License w/ auto insurance;
  • CPR Certification and Current TB skin test;
  • Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client;
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds;
  • One (1) year of home health nursing experience (required);
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Current LPN-LVN license in the state of practice required;
  • BONENT or CHT certification preferred or as required by state regulation;
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred;
  • Current CPR certification required;
  • IV certification required if required by state regulations;
  • Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred;
  • Current PPD or Chest X-Ray;
  • Computer proficiency required;
  • One year prior professional nursing experience preferred.
