Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – PRN Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – PRN to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with admitting patients and processing of physician orders as required;
- Leads by example and performs hands on care, answers call lights and assist C.N.A.’s in their duties when needed;
- Accurately documenting all events related to clients and completes any related documents as required by state or federal requirements;
- Consistently demonstrates competency with technical nursing skills according to the legal scope of practice;
- Notifying the Registered Nurse, physicians, and families of changes in the client’s condition and documents appropriately;
- Assist physician during rounds;
- Attend in-service education programs and participates in Silver Chair Training, as assigned, to learn new procedures, develop skills, etc;
- Assure that nursing partners have been assigned duties;
- Working with the interdisciplinary care team, to assure accurate patient assessment and development/revision of individualized plans of care;
- Assures the personal dignity and physical safety of each patient. Assist patients to attain the highest level of self-care possible;
- Supervise nursing partners as assigned. Complete performance evaluations as required (two times per year);
- Assisting the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques;
- Administers specified medications. Removes expired medications from circulation and access;
- Advocates for individuals with IDD;
- Participates as an intricate part of the interdisciplinary team for the people we support.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse;
- You will receive credit for your scheduled shift if Tabitha needs to cancel;
- You are required to work 24 hours a month with at least 16 hours on a weekend ;
- Notify the Scheduling Department immediately of any telephone number changes/updates;
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program;
- You must work 8 hours on one (1) holiday within a year’s timeframe;
- Valid state Licensed Practical Nurse certification;
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance;
- Experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities preferred;
- You are expected to continue attending floor meetings to stay current with reviews and new information;
- No bonus (prem) pay will be given if you have not met your monthly requirement;
- Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and provide CPR after certification;
- Failure to give a two (2) week notice to cancel a shift may be considered an absence;
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations;
- You will NOT receive credit for your scheduled shift that YOU cancel.
