Our company is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse – PRN to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with new admissions and discharges;
  • Reporting problem areas to the RN Supervisor or Clinical Director;
  • Medication administration;
  • Visiting residents to observe and evaluate their physical and emotional status;
  • Demonstrating excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times;
  • Consulting with residents, family members, and physicians in planning the resident’s care, treatment, and rehabilitation;
  • Notifying the resident’s attending physician and next-of-kin when there is a change in the resident’s condition;
  • Respects dignity and confidentiality of patients;
  • Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plan through proper techniques and procedures as ordered by Health Care Practitioner;
  • Assists the Health Care Practitioner in medical or minor surgical procedures as necessary and/or requested to meet individual needs of patients;
  • Documents nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and procedure;
  • Implements individualized treatment programs as directed by the Health Care Practitioner;
  • Count controlled substances, syringes, needles and sharps at the beginning of each shift with another staff member and sign count logs;
  • Responds to a code or health emergency within standard guidelines;
  • Post orders, if applicable, per site contract.

Requirements:

  • Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records;
  • Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies or equipment and inventory as required by established procedures;
  • Operate pill call, dispense medication and document as required by applicable policies and/or procedures;
  • Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
