Mammography Technologist operates specialized X-ray equipment and performs various mammography related procedures including screenings and diagnostic studies. Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion. Being a Mammography Technologist creates and maintains patient records and files according to required procedure. Cleans and adjusts equipment as needed. Additionally, Mammography Technologist requires an associate degree or completion of a formal radiologic technology training program. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)Diagnostic Mammography. Mammography Technologist’s years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Our company is looking for a Mammography Technologist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Will perform stereotactic procedures on a prone table as well as perform and/or screen patients;
- Performs mammogram exams on patients;
- Obtains patient history, prior films/reports, and any other supportive role information that is needed (RIS/PACS, burn discs);
- Breast biopsy;
- Works with mammogram letters (results/reminders);
- Performs Quality Control (QC) needed for FDA/ACR;
- Provides imaging support to other modalities in center (x-ray/ bone density, etc);
- Performs Stereotactic breast procedures on patients.
Requirements:
- Ability to interact with patients in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong verbal and organizational skills;
- At least one (1) year experience as a Mammographer;
- Ability to travel – some positions will require some travel;
- Active ARRT (R) (M) or ARDMS (BR) certifications;
- With excellent customer service.
