Med/Surg RN Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Med/Surg RN to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Distributing necessary medications;
- Review labs and the results of other tests;
- Educates the patient, family, and significant other(s) about measures that promote, maintain, and restore health or promote comfort;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
- Work with state-of-the-art technology;
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as the ability to evaluate complex health conditions and give care as the situation demands;
- Ability to organize and process a large amount of detail and a dedication to accurate record keeping;
- Calm and caring demeanor, especially under stress, with a focus on patient well-being, which includes physical, mental and emotional health;
- Effective Communication Skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to follow and convey orders from physicians and other health care staff;
- Documenting patient care regarding procedures and the results of their tests;
- Carrying out doctors orders;
- Performing patient admissions and assessments;
- Carries out physician orders;
- Logging patient care regarding procedures and test results.
Requirements:
- CA R.N. license;
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire;
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications or obtained within 6 months of employment;
- Min one year experience acute care preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to assess patients and deliver care;
- License to practice in West Virginia or Temporary Practice Permit;
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing;
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
