Medical Technologist – Blood Bank Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Medical Technologist – Blood Bank to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate, legible, and complete records according to Current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP’s);
- Preparing chemical solutions, reagents, calibrators, and/or standards according to approved SOP’s;
- Monitoring supply inventory and identifying any products required;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- At least 6 months of experience in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine;
- Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills;
- Blood Bank Experienced Highly Preferred;
- MLT (ASCP) preferred, MT(ASCP) preferred certification designation;
- 1+ years of Medical Technologist Experience Required;
- ASCP Highly Preferred, will consider AMT licensed candidates;
- Previous Blood Banking experience and/or experience working at a hospital blood bank, required;
- MLT (ASCP) preferred, MT(ASCP) preferred certification designation Open to new graduates with certification pending;
- Experience using Cerner highly preferred;
- Open to new graduates with certification pending;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
