Neonatologist Job Description

The Neonatologist provides care for premature or sick babies and requests necessary tests. Examines newborn children to ensure proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Being a Neonatologist may report to a medical director. Requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school and is licensed to practice. Neonatologist’s years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position’s specialty is the main requirement.

Our company is looking for a Neonatologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • This is an actively growing practice with ample quality improvement, collaborative and leadership opportunities;
  • Providers cover services including neonatal intensive care, normal newborn nursery, and labor and delivery room services;
  • This is a multi-hospital NICU practice based in Richmond, VA and is affiliated with the Bon Secours Richmond Health System;
  • There are two Level-IIIA NICUs in the richmond area; St. Francis Medical Center with six beds and Memorial Regional Medical Center with nine beds;
  • St. Mary’s Hospital is the hub of the practice with a Level-IIIB 21-bed NICU with perinatology and pediatric sub-specialty support.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable in a family centered environment;
  • Appropriate for Faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics;
  • Clinical research interest preferred;
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Neonatology;
  • ECMO experience preferred;
  • Must have at least 5 years experience.
