Nurse (RN/LPN) Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Nurse (RN/LPN) to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates effectively with residents, staff and visitors;
- Must function within scope of practice according to the State Board of Nursing;
- Role model geriatric care techniques to staff and educate as needed;
- Assumes responsibility for his/her own professional competence;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Assist in completion of required documentation to meet federal and state guidelines;
- Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician;
- Supervises, evaluates and may suspend personnel according to HCF policy;
- Accurately complete documentation of care given;
- Supervise staff, including orientation of new staff, assignment of tasks, ongoing instruction and guidance;
- Must follow HCF Policies and Procedures;
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
- Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs;
- Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies;
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
Requirements:
- Current license as a Registered Nurse with the State Board of Nursing;
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing;
- CPR certification recommended;
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action;
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN);
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations;
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace;
- RN license;
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care;
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel;
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position;
- Must have the ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift, push, pull or move 50 lbs on a regular basis and 100 lbs occasionally;
- Prefer as a minimum, nursing experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility;
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents;
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
