Our company is looking for a Optometric Technician/Medical Assistant Job to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete necessary documentation;
  • Complete diagnostic testing;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned;
  • Educate patients about contact lens insertion, removal, care and replacement;
  • Educate patients on the proper way to insert/remove/replace contact lenses;
  • Provide vision needs and eye health information to patients;
  • Gather information about a patient’s vision history;
  • Help patients choose the perfect eyewear;
  • Other assigned responsibilities as needed;
  • Ensure office visitors and patients have a positive experience;
  • Assist the doctors during examinations;
  • Prepare patients to be seen by the Optometrist;
  • Provide patients with contact lens insertion, removal and replacement training;
  • Perform all preliminary testing/gather medical history prior to patients interacting with the doctor;
  • Provide patients with an enjoyable experience.

Requirements:

  • Extremely efficient, organized and resourceful;
  • Experience in an optical setting a plus but not required;
  • Prior experience in the field is helpful but not necessary;
  • Works well with a team;
  • A strong work history in customer service, ideally, as a medical office assistant or optometric technician;
  • Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment;
  • The ability to connect well with patients;
  • Advanced English skills — reading, writing, speaking;
  • Able to work well with technology and various instruments with training;
  • Compassionate, with strong customer service skills;
  • Can read, write and speak English well enough to effectively communicate;
  • Advanced efficiency and organizational skills;
  • Fashion savvy and enjoy helping people make fashion decisions;
  • Prior experience would be helpful but not necessary;
  • Prior optical experience is a bonus but not necessary.
