Our company is looking for a OR Registered Nurse to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Apprise Medical Director and/or Director of Nursing of suspected child oradult abuse;
- Monitor patient vital signs at various stages of care;
- Administer drugs and other agents as directed by the practitioner oranesthesiologist;
- Determine patient’s/parent’s ability to understand and retain instructions;
- Instruct patients and/or adult companions as appropriate regarding postdischargecare;
- Arrive for duty promptly;
- Complete event reports as necessary;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Assists in recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and retention of operating room/corresponding ancillary area employees;
- Provides professional nursing care to patients in the Surgery Center, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care;
- Helps in determining goals for assigned area and effectively manages resources to achieve the goals;
- Care is provided based on ages of the population served; 1 year through geriatric – 65 years or older;
- Maintains a collegial relationship with physicians to ensure quality patient care;
- Responsible for other functions as assigned by the Nurse Director, Nurse Supervisor;
- Exhibits competency in performing all functions of assigned area or duties.
Requirements:
- FL RN license and/or approved multistate license;
- May require unanticipated need to work beyond scheduled shift due to patient care needs;
- Ability to read, write and speak English;
- Handle potentially dangerous materials;
- Current BLS required;
- BLS and/or ACLS and/or PALS certification as required by Director of Nursing;
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required;
- ASLS required;
- Current Pennsylvania nursing license;
- Previous experience in OR preferred;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- CNOR preferred;
- Potential exposure to disruptive or uncontrollable patients;
- Previous experience in acute care preferred.
