Pediatric Medical Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performing phlebotomy, processing lab specimens and requisition forms;
- Returning calls to patients per physician request;
- Assisting physicians with injections, aspirations, and ultrasound;
- Acting as the liaison between triage, call center, and assigned physician;
- Preparing patients for examination and treatment (taking brief histories, obtaining vital signs and reviewing patients’ medication list);
- Administering vaccinations to children and adolescents;
- Preparing exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies;
- Screening patient telephone calls for referral to physicians.
Requirements:
- Pediatric experience;
- Phlebotomy Experience;
- Active medical assistant certification;
- 2 years’ experience as a CMA;
- Current and valid American Heart Association BLS certification;
- Experience with electronic health records required;
- Current Immunization Records;
- TB skin test from within the last year;
- Must be able to work a rotating shift including evenings (either Tuesday or Thursday) and weekends (either Saturday or Sunday);
- Minimum 2 years of years of recent MA experience in a pediatric or family practice setting;
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school;
- CPR Certified;
- Medical Assistant diploma;
- At least one year solid experience in a Pediatric or Family practice;
- High School Diploma.
